Planning on getting your Agile Certification? Here I compare the top 5 best Agile & Scrum websites for Online Practice Exams with FREE resources.
Thinking of getting an Agile Certifications?
I’ve been working in the software development industry for the last 5 years and I recently obtained my first Agile certification. WOO! However, it’s not easy for newbies to find good (or even great) resources online. Especially if you want to pass the first time.
If you’re on a budget, Scrum.org offers the open assessments. And that’s OK. In my opinion, the number of questions are limited. This didn’t give me enough confidence to take the final exam.
So if you’re in the business of Agility, want to PASS THE FIRST TIME, look no further!
I spent a month scouring the internet and researching this question “What are the best resources for Agile & Scrum practice exams online” and this is what I found…
Below I do a comparison and attempt to give you my analysis of Pros and Cons of the above websites/platforms, let’s get started.
ScrumPrep
ScrumPrep is on a mission to simplify Scrum & Agile for 1 million people. They offer practice exams covering every available Scrum and Agile certifications to date.

HeyScrum
HeyScrum says they offer the universe’s largest Agile question bank for practice exams, and from my research, it’s true! HeyScrum focuses on solely practice assessments.
Overall, there’s not a lot to dislike about their product, free demos & resources, based on an up-to-date Scrum guide, a group of experienced instructors, and A LOT of courses. If you’re planning on taking more than one certification it’s a no brainer. For me, I only wanted to pass the exam and couldn’t justify another subscription (I need Disney+ and Netflix!).
Pros ✅
- Large question bank with 1500+ questions
- Covers all 12 Scrum.org certification exams. The only place I found with PSM 3 practice questions.

Mikhail Lapshin
Mikhail Lapshin is a software engineer with a passion for Scrum. He and built his own website to scratch his own (Agile) itch.
Overall, it felt more like his personal blog with a community, and some quizzes he put together for fun. The biggest pro for me is his industry experience, actually applied Agile day-in and day-out. However, the outdated assessments are not so attractive to me.
Pros ✅
- Simple and straightforward
- Industry-expert
- Two modes for practicing and simulating the real exam
Cons ❌
- Limited course
- 80 questions
- Based on 2017 Scrum guide, 2020 is in progress
Management Plaza
Management Plaza focuses on eLearning, specifically practice exams for project management and business analysis related courses.
Overall, I like how they are focused on practice exams and how 30% of the course are free. A try-before-you-buy model, or freemium. With a large number of practice questions and the time they’ve been in the industry, it’s a solid choice. However, the website/brand seems outdated and I’m a sucker for good content and UX.
Pros ✅
- In the industry for 9+ years
- 30-day money-back guaranteed
- Free resources are available
- Price for beginner courses
- Updated 2021 guides
- Good number of practice exam questions
- Offers
Cons ❌
- Limited practice exams for all levels
- Not endorsed or recognised by official organisations
- Price varies considerably (from $30 to $600)
Udemy
Udemy is a leading global marketplace for teaching and learning, connecting millions of students to the skills they need to succeed. For Agile, it has around 2,800+ courses, uploaded by individual instructors.
Overall, Udemy is highly engaging as they focus on video learning and content. Nevertheless, it’s has a variety of experienced and inexperienced instructors; all riding the hype of Agile. It’s a mixed bag!
Pros ✅
- Engaging video lessons
- Large community
- 30-day money-back guaranteed
- One-time payment
- Reputable platform
- Trusted reviews
Cons ❌
- Hard to decipher experienced vs inexperienced Agile instructors
- Risk no refund if courses are randomly removed by platform (happens a lot)
- Small price varies based on course
- The quality of courses and video production is varied
- Video can be more inefficient than reading
- Aim at more beginners and immediate levels
Which course is the right course for you?
If you’ve got this far, you’re pretty serious about getting your Agile certification. The right choice is based on your needs and budget, but here are my recommendations:
- ScrumPrep — if you’re focusing on one specific certification, ie PSM I, PAL, PSPO III, etc. The cost may be higher than what you might find on Udemy but there is a guarantee policy if you do not pass your exam. I have to give them credit for helping me prepare for my certifications.
- HeyScrum — if you’re solely focused on passing the Agile exams the first time and want as many questions as possible to validate your existing knowledge. With your subscription, you’ll be able to build up knowledge in all different areas of Agile too.
